Meet the "who" behind Ta-Da! Workshop Getting to know the artist behind each piece of work is part of the fun!
A lifelong Nebraska resident and a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Barbie has a degree in business administration with an emphasis in marketing. A work-at-home mom of three energetic boys, Barbie is a freelance writer, artist, designer and founder of Ta-Da! Workshop.
"I enjoy sidewalk chalking with bright colors, 'let it loose' in-the-car singing, spending time with my family, and the opportunity to add whimsy to pieces that can be used and loved in everyday life."
Barbie has a passion for photography and enjoys painting with bright-colored acrylics. Her love of “salvaged style” has been the foundation for her business, turning trash into treasure. Some of her favorite materials to use when upcycling and repurposing are old books, bottle caps, corks, plastic bottles, vintage keys and wooden window screens.
Her work has been a part of the Earth Day celebration at Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo. Better Homes and Gardens named her a handmade holiday ornament award winner. She has been a featured recycled artist recognized by Nestle’s Arrowhead Bottled Water, and has provided content for and been featured by TV’s TLC on the network’s Parentables website.
Barbie hopes her work motivates others to free their inner artist and strongly believes, "creativity should be a part of our daily routine!"
